Roles of Alpha PSP in the Management of Memory Problems
Memory is an ability we all have, yet rarely think of - unless when we realize that we are losing that ability. Memory loss is very annoying by itself, but worse is the anxiety that often comes along with it. Probably the greatest fear provoked by lapses in memory is that of Alzheimer's disease, a progressive and debilitatiting disease that usually starts in midlife with minor defects in memory and behavior. Although this is a fairly common disorder among older people, it is important to realize that most memory lapses have nothing to do with Alzheimer's disease.
It is common belief that as people age their ability to remember will begin to deteriorate. This is not necessarily true. The aging process itself has little, if any, bearing on the ability to recall information. Occasional memory lapses are a natural, normal part of life at virtually any age, but with proper diet and nutrition, the memory should remain sharp and active well into one's nineties or beyond.
One reason many people suffer from memory loss is an insufficient supply of necessary nutrients to the brain. The life of the body is in the blood. It literally feeds and nourishes every cell within our bodies. The brian is surrounded by a protective envelope known as the blood-brian barrier, which allows only certain substances to pass from the bloodstream into the brain. If the blood is "thick" wich cholesterol and triglycerides, the amount of nutrient-rich blood that can pass through the blood-brain barrier decrease. Over time, this can result in the brain becoming malnourished.

In addition, the function of the brain depends upon substantces call neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters are brian chemicals that act as slectrical switches in the brian and, through the functioning of the nervous system, are ultimately responsible for all the functions of the body. If the brian dose not have an adequate supply of neurotransmitters, or the nutrients from which to make them, it begins to develop the biochemical equivalent of a power failure or a short circuit. If your mind goes blank when you are trying to recall a specific fact or piece of information, or it beginsto plug into some other, irrelevenat memory instead, it is likely that such a "short-circuit" occurred.
There are numerous other factors involved in the deterioration of memeory. One of the most important is probably exposure to free radicals, which can wreak enormous damage to the memory if unchecked. Nutritional deficiencies, especially of the B vitamins and amino acids, account for memory loss in some individuals. Alcoholics and drug addicts often suffer a great deal from memory loss. Alcoholics are notorious for "blackouts" huge memory gaps that occur even though they are consciuos. Allergies, stress thyroid disorders, and poor circulation to the brian may be contributing factors. Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) can play a role in memory loss as well, because to function properly, the brian requires that the level of glucose in the blood fall within a very specific narrow range. Wide swings in blood sugar levels affect brain fucntion and memeory.

Alpha PSP has been developed to improve brain function, cellular repair process, digestion, metabolism and overall homeostasis. A study performed by Dr. Sayan Sawastri, an Associated Professor from Emory University, School of Medicine, Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A. and his staff investigated the neurotrophic and neuroprotective action of Alpha PSP in PMK Research Institute, Bangkok, Thailand. They discovered that when in vitro neuron cells were subjected to three of the most prominent and potent neurontoxins including beta-amyloid, glutamate and hydrogen peroxide in the brain, there was massive cell destruction and death. However, when Alpha PSP was introduced into the medium, neuron cells, a certain degree of regeneration of the dendrites and axons was also apparently evident.

Results of these analysis demostated that the main active ingredients of Alpha PSP signinficantly decreased neuronal cell death, a cellular marker of memory formation. Alpha PSP may also prevent impairment of glucose/energy metabolism and may improve the ability of neurons to reduce the levels of free radicals and affect ATP levels. The overall results of this study could demonstrate the cellular mechanisam of Alpha PSP on cognitive function and a possible intervention in Alzheimer's disease.

Rice, a kind of cereal well-known to the Thais and to all of Asia as a staple food for centuries, has plaed an essential role in nutrition and to the health of people worldwide....
Rice is an integral part of Thai culture and our way of life. It is the lifeblood nourishing Thailand from the past and into the future. History clearly demonstrates the enormous potential of Thai rice and its intrinsic values which has yet to be fully relised. Innovation can and will enable us to continue to hold on to rice as our precious national asset, especially our native and pure varieties which will allow more value added to be captured in an effective manner....
